The Center of Growth, Metabolism and Aging (CGMA) is a first-class biomedicine research institute in China, which is supported by the Sichuan University 985 project. Professor Xiao ZX is the current Director-General, who is the former full professor of Boston University and a recipient of the National Thousand Talents Program. CGMA has set up an advanced biotechnology platform for pure and applied bio-medicine study. CGMA focus on the research of biological process of growth, metabolism and aging. Currently, CGMA is doing research in 1) the function and regulation of p53 and Rb protein family; 2) cell growth, metabolism and aging with DNA damage and cell compelling; 3) cancer cell regulation by protein phosphorylation, acetylization, ubiquitinoylation and methylation; 4) computer modelling of gene expression and regulation; 5) screening of anti-cancer drugs and the appliance of translational medicine; 6) structural biology study related to cancer biology.
